Sweet Potato Biscuit Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 sweet potato, mashed
 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
 - 3 teaspoons baking powder
 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
 - 1 teaspoon salt
 - 2 tablespoons shortening
 - ¼ cup milk
 - ½ teaspoon nutmeg
 - 1 tablespoon butter, melted
 - ½ teaspoon cinnamon
 

Directions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a baking sheet.
 - In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, brown sugar, salt, and nutmeg.
 - Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles pea-sized crumbles.
 - Ass mashed sweet potato and milk to the flour mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
 - On a floured surface, roll out dough on a flat surface to about ½ inch thickness.
 - Cut the dough into 8 circles and place them an inch apart on a greased baking sheet.
 - Bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
 - Brush each sweet potato baked biscuit with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon.
 - Serve the sweet potato biscuits with additional butter if desired and enjoy!
